Participants in this course will learn to recognize signs of a potential behavioral crisis and remediate before the event. In addition to exploring how their own behavior can effect the escalation cycle, participants discover and practice de-escalation techniques that recognize the importance of maintaining student dignity during behavior crises.
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
- Determine individual student behavior triggers.
- Understand and describe the escalation cycle.
- Recognize the signs of a potential behavioral crisis and remediate before the event.
