OSPI

The Washington Education Association has a long-standing working relationship with Washington’s Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI). State funds are used to support the WEA Special Education Cadre in the provision of training on the education of students with disabilities. Trainings are provided for all educators, families and community organizations.

In addition, the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction has expressed great interest in working with us on Closing the Knowledge Equity Gap initiative. OSPI is bringing in other departments beyond Special Education, including the Center for Improvement of Student Learning, as they believe our work will provide essential supports for other student populations who are not being successful in the school environment.
