Progress Monitoring
Progress monitoring is a scientifically based practice that is used to assess students academic performance and evaluate the effectiveness of instruction. Progress monitoring can be implemented with individual students or an entire class.
Progress Monitoring Tools
The tools chart refects the results of four annual reviews that the Center's Technical Review Committee (TRC) have completed. The tools listed on the chart are not endorsed by the Center or the Special Education Support Center.
What is Scientifically Based Research on Progress Monitoring?
When teachers use systemic progress monitoring to trach their student's progress in reading, mathematics or spelling, they are better able to identify students in need of additional or different forms of instruction. They design stronger instructional programs, and their students achieve better.
